INTERVIEWS, DOCUMENTARIES, AND SELECTED POEMS
Shams has written numerous articles and has been interviewed by many journalists, literary critics, and scholars. These interviews and writings have been collected and published in books, including The Reflection of an Unfulfilled Life (2006). Notably, he was interviewed by Ramin Jahanbeglo, and their conversation was published in Iran and Modernity (1998). Additionally, Hashem Akbariani’s research on Shams, The Oral History of Shams Langeroodi (2008), provides a comprehensive look into his life. Mehdi Savoji also interviewed Shams, and their discussions were published in two volumes: Where Was the Homeland? (2020) and Somewhere Behind the Words (2021).

Several documentaries have explored Shams Langeroodi’s life, work, and worldview. These include Dreams in Wakefulness by BBC Broadcasting (2012), Solid as Water by Arash Sanjabi (2013), and Aknoon by Filimo (2025)—three of the most in-depth and comprehensive productions on him. In addition, several collections of Shams’s selected poems have been published, often with introductions by renowned poets and writers. Notable collections include A Hidden Storm in the Breeze by Baha Morshedi (2006), Shepherd of Shadows by Karim Rajabzadeh (2008), Nobody Talked to Me About the Future by Azadeh Kazemi (2009), Forgive Me, My Long Street by Gholamreza Broosan (2009), Life Is the Story of the Sea by Maryam Eshaghi (2013), and four volumes of selected poems by Feyze Sharifi: Love Songs of Shams Langeroodi; Our Contemporary Poems; Silent Drowning in the Blizzard of Winter (2013); and Contemporary Iranian Poets (2022). Over the past few decades, numerous theses, Ph.D. dissertations, and academic papers on Shams’s poetry and novels have been presented at seminars focused on Persian language and literature.
